"The children took to the format of the program readily and found it easy to use from the outset. They are very keen to beat the system and delight in reducing the flash time to its fastest: this keeps them interested and, as with all learning at its best, they are assimilating and improving their reading skills without really knowing it!
I am most interested in the program as a tool to help children read ahead - a skill that is needed by all to become fluent readers. The phrases in the wordstores really do help improve abilities to scan and store a succession of words."

Click on OK (Holding you mouse over this OK picture gives you further information): ---- On the new screen click on 'Do a choose exercise'. You will see a 'question' in a blue box at the top of the screen for a short length of time. This this time may change after completing an exercise, getting faster for a 'good score' and slower for a 'poor score'. It is unchanged for a score between the good and poor scores.
Change the level of difficulty
Choose a new level of words, shown as 'Year'.
Change the Flash time - e.g. 1.50 = one and a half seconds.
'Good score' sets the level where the timing speeds up.
'Poor score' sets the score below which the program recognises problems and slows down.

To return to this screen at any time click on 'Exit' then 'Change the workplan or wordstore'.
