Reading in a Flash is for those who are only interested in the reading functionality and has the same reading exercises as SCANiTplus.
Spelling in a Flash has the spelling functionality with the same spelling exercises as SCANiTplus.

Primary and secondary
Each of these three products comes in a Primary and Secondary edition, as well as a home user version:
  • Primary schools with content arranged by year and term for KS1 and 2 (List of Contents)

  • Secondary schools with content arranged in five levels from beginners to advanced (List of Contents)

  • Home users with content arranged for Early Years, Intermediate and Advanced (Reading only and no networking licenses)

Networking
All of the above can be used on a single computer by many students, each with their own sign-on and password.
The schools editions also come with a network licence for a range of seats. Each product's page shows the number and cost for each of these licences.

A brief history of SCANiT software
The original idea for SCANiT arose when our designer's daughter encountered reading difficulties. An educational psychologist identified the problem as an "inappropriate reading strategy" in which she was continuing to break words down into letters, rather than scan whole words. It was suggested that a computer flashcard program would help overcome this problem.
As we demonstrated the software to teachers, they would ask if it could perform other functions, such as test times tables, teach foreign language vocabulary and teach spellings by selecting the correctly spelled option.
SCANiTplus does all of these things.
